At The Holistic Cancer Centre, we pride ourselves on delivering compassionate care and comprehensive support for individuals affected by cancer. Today, we are thrilled to announce some exciting staffing changes that will further strengthen our commitment to this mission. Patsy, who has been an integral part of our team for 10 years as Nurse Manager, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Additionally, Jani, one of our dedicated nurses, has stepped into the role of Nurse Manager. These changes reflect our growth as a charity and our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care.
Patsy: From Nurse Manager to CEO
Patsy’s journey with The Holistic Cancer Centre has been one of deep dedication, leadership, and compassion. Over the years, she has overseen the day-to-day operations of the centre with a steady hand and a heart for both our patients and staff. Now, as CEO, Patsy is ready to take on new responsibilities that will allow her to shape the future of the organisation.
Patsy’s vision for the charity is clear: to lead with compassion, ensuring that our staff, volunteers, and patients feel valued and supported. “As CEO, I see myself responsible to the employees, to lead and guide staff and volunteers with a vision of moving the charity forward,” Patsy explains. “I am willing to do any task within the organisation, and I feel it’s important to convey that to others. We are a team, and I cannot do my job without this team.”
This sense of unity and collaboration is a core aspect of Patsy’s leadership style. Her emphasis on teamwork reflects the very nature of the care provided at The Holistic Cancer Centre, where each member of staff works together in synergy for the betterment of the charity and its patients. Patsy believes that the strength of the organisation lies in its people: “I value each and every person within the charity. We work together in unity and synergy for the betterment of the charity and its reputation at all times.”
Patsy has a BSc (Hons) in Oncology Nursing, her background is not just in leadership but in providing hands-on care and support to cancer patients and their families. Her willingness to roll up her sleeves and get involved in any task demonstrates her deep commitment to the organisation and the patients it serves. In addition to her leadership role, Patsy is Dual trained an Integrative Counslleor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), bringing a wealth of experience in emotional support and mental health care to the role of CEO. This background strengthens her ability to lead the charity with a compassionate and informed perspective, ensuring that emotional and psychological well-being remain at the heart of the care provided.
Jani: A New Nurse Manager with a Wealth of Experience
Stepping into Patsy’s former role as Nurse Manager is Jani, a registered nurse and a familiar face to anyone who has visited The Holistic Cancer Centre in recent years. Jani qualified as a nurse RGN in 1991 and did a return to practice in 2018, where she then joined our charity in 2019. Jani is also Dual trained, she is a therapeutic reflexologist and has diplomas in reflexology and massage, and is a key asset to the centre’s holistic approach to cancer care.
Jani’s commitment to The Holistic Cancer Centre has been unwavering since she joined the team. She has proven herself to be dependable, loyal, and incredibly hardworking. Her colleagues often remark on her dedication and her ability to bring humour and lightness to even the most challenging of situations, qualities that make her an invaluable part of the team.
As Nurse Manager, Jani will oversee the daily operations of the centre, ensuring that patients continue to receive the highest quality care in a nurturing and supportive environment. Jani’s holistic training aligns perfectly with the centre’s mission to treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. In her new role, she will be responsible for coordinating our team of healthcare professionals and holistic therapists and over 40 volunteers, managing resources, and ensuring that every patient’s journey is one of care, respect, and dignity.
In addition to her nursing background, Jani’s expertise in reflexology and massage allows her to bring a truly holistic approach to her leadership. She understands the importance of treating the whole person, and she is committed to making sure that the centre continues to offer a range of therapies that support both the physical and emotional well-being of our patients.
Looking Ahead: A Bright Future for The Holistic Cancer Centre
With Patsy at the helm as CEO and Jani taking on the role of Nurse Manager, The Holistic Cancer Centre is well-positioned to continue growing and expand its services. Both Patsy and Jani bring a wealth of experience, compassion, and dedication to their roles, and their leadership will undoubtedly steer the charity toward new heights.
As we move forward, we remain committed to our mission of providing exceptional care and support to individuals affected by cancer. The changes in our leadership reflect our ongoing commitment to this mission and our belief in the strength of our team. With Patsy’s vision for the future and Jani’s hands-on approach to management, we are excited about what lies ahead.
We invite you to join us in congratulating both Patsy and Jani on their new roles, and we look forward to the continued growth and success of The Holistic Cancer Centre under their leadership. Together, we will continue to provide holistic, compassionate care to those who need it most.
